February 8

I didn't post anything yesterday. I don't have any particular reason, I just didn't feel like it. I ate food -- broth and eggs for breakfast, roast chicken and sweet potato for lunch, and soup with hamburger meat for supper. Or maybe I mixed up lunch and supper there. I didn't exercise.

Today was better, I did my 15 minutes of exercise. I actually got my kitchen cleaned and dishes done and put a pork roast in the crockpot to cook overnight. I guess yesterday was just an off day.

Anyway, here's today's food:

Breakfast -- zucchini and eggs.

Lunch -- ground beef on top of sauteed broccoli slaw, sweet potato with cinnamon and macadamia nut oil, blood orange kombucha.
I could've sworn I took a picture of supper, but I guess not. It was roasted chicken and brussel sprouts.

February 5

Boring day. Worked, came home, did my 15 minutes of exercise, watched a little tv, and now it's time for bed.

Here's what I ate:

Breakfast -- sweet potato and eggs, plain kombucha.

Lunch -- chicken leg quarter, roasted brussel sprouts (I burnt them, but they mostly tasted okay. I just peeled off the burnt part). Also, a tangerine. And a Girl Scout Cookie -- a Tagalong. Not even a Thin Mint. So not worth it.

Supper -- more chicken leg, two tangerines, a sweet potato and some mayo, and a strawberry/ginger kombucha.

February 4

Boring day today, went to work, came home, did my 15 minutes of exercise (really, it was setting the timer for 15 minutes, and straightening stuff up and hauling stuff from the room it was in, to the room it was supposed to be in, not really formal exercise, but it needed to be done, so I'm counting it). I did also put some chicken in the crockpot to cook, so hopefully that'll turn out good and I'll have something more exciting for lunch than I did today.

Here's what I ate:

Breakfast -- scrambled eggs with spinach and sausage and sweet potato.
Lunch -- cauliflower/acorn squash soup, with egg casserole crumbled in it, and cashews. Also, a banana.

Supper -- Salad (swiss chard, kale, and spinach mix, with broccoli slaw) topped with baked chicken breast, ranch dressing made from mayo, coconut milk, and Penzey's Sunny Paris seasoning mix, and a strawberry-orange kombucha.

February 3

My doctor's appointment went well. My doctor was impressed that I've lost weight in the last six months and asked what I was doing. I loaned her a copy of It Starts With Food, because I'd really like to know her thoughts on it, so I'm hoping she's really going to read it. My blood tests all came back improved from last time, although there's still room for improvement. I'll go back to her in six months or so, and hopefully they'll be even better then.

My breakfast today is not Whole30 compliant, but I made the choice to have non compliant food, and then got right back on track with lunch, mostly because I felt like the easiest way to have a hot, filling breakfast after my doctor's appointment was to go to a restaurant, rather than trying to take food with me and find a microwave to heat it up and eat in the car. Anyway, here's what I ate today:

Breakfast -- at Cafe Brazil. Omelette with broccoli, portobello mushrooms, and sundried tomatoes, rosemary potatoes, and a mocha. I didn't eat the bread or the jelly. Also, if you'd told me a year ago I would ever order an omelette with no cheese, I would've laughed at you, but I did. And it wasn't bad. Not as good as if it had cheese, but not bad.

Lunch -- Classic Pork Meatballs from Well Fed 2, spinach topped with a mix of zingy ginger dressing with a little mayo (there wasn't much dressing left, this helped it go a little farther), baked sweet potato with macadamia nut oil and cinnamon, and strawberry/chocolate kombucha.

Supper -- Cauliflower/acorn squash soup topped with sausage, spinach with ranch dressing, blood orange kombucha.

February 2

Today was good. I feel much better than yesterday. I got in 20 minutes of exercise, walking. I cooked some. I straightened up the house some, although I'm not sure anyone else would be able to tell that I did anything. I've been hungry all day, like an hour after I ate, I was hungry. I'm not sure what's up with that.

Here's what I ate today:

Breakfast -- Egg casserole, beet/cabbage sauerkraut, banana with cinnamon and coconut cream.

Lunch -- two beef hot dogs, baked sweet potato, roasted cabbage, lemon/blueberry kombucha.

Supper -- salad with strawberries and zingy ginger dressing, cauliflower/acorn squash soup topped with Classic Pork Meatballs from Well Fed 2.

And then 2-3 hours after supper, I had more roast cabbage. And three more meatballs, with some mayo/mustard mixed for dipping. And then a banana with coconut cream. I was really, really hungry today. And I feel like I eat a ton of food, so I'm not sure how I manage to be hungry. Maybe it was the shortage of veggies at breakfast? I do usually have more than I did today. Anyway, I have a doctor's appointment in the morning, complete with blood work, for which I need to be fasting, so I'm definitely done eating for the night. Hopefully I won't be too hungry in the morning.

February 1, 2014

Another day, more of the same. My sister challenged me to exercise at least 15 minutes every day this month, so I did get 15 minutes of walking in. I should've done more, but I started having some digestive issues, I'm not sure why, but it's left me not feeling so great. I don't know what I did differently today that made it bad, when I was fine yesterday. You'd think since I'm eating lots of veggies and meat and not a lot of anything else, my tummy would be happy, but I guess not.

Anyway, here's what I ate today (except supper. Forgot to get a picture of supper):

Breakfast -- egg casserole, coleslaw

Lunch -- two hot dogs, mashed cauliflower, strawberries and coconut cream, and lemon/ginger kombucha.
Supper was egg drop soup made with homemade broth and two eggs, and plain kombucha. No veggies, I know that's bad, but I wasn't sure what veggies to eat that wouldn't make the digestive stuff worse. I really just wanted the broth and only threw in the eggs just to get a little extra protein. Really hope I feel better tomorrow.

Whole30 #2 Day 31

I guess I need to come up with better titles now that technically the Whole30 is over, huh? Oh, well, I'll worry about that tomorrow.

First up, I weighed this morning, and I lost 5.1 lbs over the last month. This makes me happy. Total, since last June, I've lost 45.7 lbs. I'm going to do pictures for the month too, but haven't yet -- I'll do it tomorrow.

Now to the food:

Breakfast -- egg casserole, cauliflower/squash soup, zingy ginger dressing, unflavored kombucha.

Lunch -- baked sweet potato topped with ground beef and spinach and avocado, and strawberry/pineapple kombucha.

Supper -- chicken breast cooked in coconut oil and topped with Magic Dust, roasted cabbage, avocado, part of an orange, blood orange kombucha.
