Alice Tea and Crafting

I think I'm going to revive the blog. I know the two of you who read it are thrilled, right? I'm hoping committing to posting will help me commit to actually do stuff -- make stuff, read stuff, eat healthier stuff -- you know, actually maybe be somewhat productive, which I feel like I just haven't been lately. So, I'm aiming for posting twice a week. Anything more than that is just a bonus. I want one post to be crafting related, and the other will be -- I don't know, something else. What I'm reading, or eating, or thinking about, or if I really can't come up with anything else, a pic of the cats (kidding, mostly -- my cats tend not to do anything interesting to take pictures of).

So I'll start with what I did this past weekend. A friend of mine, Mitzi, hosted an Alice in Wonderland tea for a bunch of us. She really outdid herself on the decor and the food, the attention to detail was amazing. Here's just a couple of examples:

Sandwiches, and I managed to only get the very top of the hedge-dog, but trust me, it was adorable.

Place setting at the table I sat at -- each table had a different theme, I sat at the Mad Hatter table.

In addition to the great food, and lots of talking and laughing (and maybe some covert matchmaking for some people's adult children -- shh, don't tell), some of us did a swap of altered teacups with an Alice theme. They were all amazing! This is the one I made:
